Does Clemson really need another coffee shop? Because Dutch Bros is soon to be opening on Tiger Boulevard, the answer is most definitely, yes.
After doing some research, Dutch Bros is much more than just a coffee shop. Let’s first start off with what everyone really cares about, the menu. Dutch Bros is known for their featured drinks such as the “Golden Eagle” and the “Caramelizer”, with tons of fun flavor combinations, but it doesn’t stop there. If coffee isn’t really your thing, no need to fear. Dutch Bros has matcha, smoothies, chai, energy drinks, protein shakes, and more! This wide menu will leave you driving away with at least one thing in your cup holder.
Dutch Bros will be opening in place of KFC and Long John Silvers, which is not in the cluster of fast food chains that holds up the never ending traffic on Clemson’s most famous, or only, road. Being out of the way, but still in a convenient location will help be able to get in and out quickly, on your way to or from class.
Besides just being a delicious morning or mid afternoon treat, bringing Dutch Bros to Clemson is good for its economy, and after some investigation, it might be a good place to get a part time job! According to Glassdoor job postings, employees at Dutch Bros make $15-20 per hour, which in my opinion, is pretty good for a part time barista! So if you’re looking for a side gig, they definitely will need some extra hands.
As if it couldn’t get any better than this, they also give back to their community! Talk about well rounded. According to Dutch Bros official website, Dutch Bros has recently donated more than 1.2 million dollars to support youth initiatives, as well as having their team activity go out to volunteer in their communities. They have also recently donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief on behalf of the Texas floods this past summer. It is important to many people, especially within the younger demographic, to support businesses that are aware of what is happening in the world and helping out those who need it. Dutch Bros is ahead of the game!
Dutch Bros started with two passionate brothers with a pushcart full of espresso, and now has found its way to Clemson, South Carolina. With Dutch Bros staying true to their values, giving back to their communities, and providing more job opportunities in this college town, it’s safe to say the residents are getting excited. This addition to our Clemson coffee shops is nothing but a positive addition to our community for a multitude of reasons, besides just a fun iced latte.
